I’m excited to share that I was a speaker at the Summer League Sports Medicine Series, which took place July 13–14 during NBA Summer League at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

During the event, I had the opportunity to lead an executive panel on “Worldwide Playbook: Basketball Athlete Management Across Cultures.” After 30 years in the NBA, I’ve seen firsthand how the game—and the people who play it—transcend borders, backgrounds, and expectations. Managing athletes isn’t just about X’s and O’s or stats on a page; it’s about understanding the whole person, building trust, and adapting leadership to fit different cultures and environments.

Whether you’re a physical therapist, athletic trainer, team executive, sports scientist, agent, athlete, or a student aspiring to work in this space, the Summer League Sports Medicine Series brings together professionals and learners from every corner of the basketball world.

I’ve always believed that leadership is about helping a group realize a common dream—and that dream looks different depending on where you’re standing. I’m grateful for the chance to share what I’ve learned, hear new perspectives, and connect with others who care deeply about athlete care and performance.
